Day 1 - Depart USA
Your journey begins as you board an international flight bound for China.
Day 2 - Beijing
Landing in Beijing, the capital of
China, you are met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 3 - Beijing (B/L)
Explore the landmarks of imperial
Beijing: the famous Tiananmen Square, the imposing Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven and
Summer Palace with lovely pagodas, pavilions, and courtyards.
Day 4 - Beijing (B/L/SD)
After breakfast, you will be amazed
by one of the great wonders of the world, the Great Wall of China. Next is a visit to the
ancient burial site of the royal court during the Ming Dynasty, called the Ming Tombs. The
day concludes with a traditional gourmet Peking duck dinner.
Day 5 - Beijing/Xian (B/L)
After a flight to Xian, ancient
capital of eleven Chinese dynasties, you will be transferred to your hotel followed
by the city tour including the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, and
Ming-era City Gate.
Day 6 - Xian (B/L/SD)
Today you will tour the burial grounds of Emperor Qin, which is guarded by
thousands of detailed life-sized terra-cotta warriors. Next you will visit the Provincial
Museum and in the evening, you will enjoy dinner and a traditional theatrical performance
at the Tang Dynasty Theater.
Day 7 - Xian/Lhasa (B/L/D)
Today you will fly to Lhasa, Tibet,
and view the spectacular 22,000-ft Himalayan peaks while en route. Arriving in Lhasa, the
rest of the day is at your leisure.
Day 8 - Lhasa (B/L/D)
You will be amazed by the
spectacular architecture at the Potala Palace, the former living quarters of the Dalai
Lama. Later, you will visit the famous Barkhor Market, where you can shop for rare Tibetan
items.
Day 9 - Lhasa (B/L/D)
An extraordinary day of sightseeing
is before you. You will visit one of Tibet's holiest shrines, the revered 7th century
Jokhang Temple. Next, visit the cliff-top Drepung Monastery, tiered against a mountain in
the traditional Tibetan style.
Day 10 - Lhasa/Chengdu (B/L)
Fly to Chengdu and, If time
permits, tour the city sights including Hermitage of celebrated Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu,
1000-year-old Diving Light Monastery.
Day 11 - Chengdu/Guilin (B/L)
Fly to Guilin China's most scenic
city that best known for its immortal stone mountains and fantastic caves. An afternoon
city tour will take you to the Reed Flute Cave, full of stalactites and stalagmites
formations.
Day 12 - Guilin (B/L/SD)
The day will be spent aboard a
riverboat cruising along the Li River surrounded by delicate limestone peaks and a
beautiful landscape. The day will concludes with a dinner and a cultural show.
Day 13 - Guilin/Shanghai (B/L)
Fly to Shanghai, which was once
known as the Paris of the East", and you will be met and escorted to your
hotel.
Day 14 - Shanghai (B/L/D)
You will tour Shanghai's premier
sights: the traditional Yu Garden, waterfront Bund, and the acclaimed Shanghai Museum. The
evening concludes with an Acrobatic Show.
Day 15 - Shanghai/USA (B)
Transfer to Pudong International
Airport and bid farewell to Shanghai as you board your international flight back to the
States.
